In all honesty, it was somewhat difficult to produce a review of LinkedIn's Presidential Inauguration coverage because of its clear avoidance of the subject matter - especially given their ban of political advertisements on the platform.
There were 2 main aspects I examined of their coverage: their LinkedIn News account that uploads articles for viewing on a sidebar menu on the site, and the search results of posts related to the search “presidential inauguration 2025.”
I was unable to find any coverage solely on the inauguration from their LinkedIn News account. I found coverage of President Trump’s “First Day” orders, but nothing super in-depth on the matter. Ultimately, the news on the account has a focus on how things impact the job market, and less for the sake of news. While it is still a functioning outlet for news, it isn’t necessarily up there with your other apps that are more known for having broad coverage on topics. Because it is a platform with a focus, it narrows the topic range as a result.
Posts that resulted from my aforementioned search terms were mainly inauguration-related work rather than coverage itself. Again, this makes sense for a platform mainly utilized for its job matching capabilities. This feature allows for people's work related to the election to be easily seen, and searches can be narrowed down to the specific field of work.
Because of the lack of concrete coverage on the inauguration, I assume you could say it was sparse – but I’m not sure if it’s the primary goal of LinkedIn’s or its users to use the app for this specifically.
